Running bumps is in the Wilson blood, and Bradley couldn’t be happier to be a part of the clan. The younger brother of Olympic bronze medalist Bryon Wilson, the two got their start building their own moguls courses in Butte, Montana.

Brad made huge strides during the 2011 season, earning a second-place ranking in the NorAm standings with two victories. His progress continued last season with eight World Cup top-10 results, including two fourth-place finishes. Wilson entered the 2012-13 season with a boost of confidence, which led to four World Cup podiums finishes and his career-first win in Inawashiro, Japan. Wilson ended the season ranked fourth in the FIS moguls standings.

BRADLEY SAYS

This season was my most successful season yet. It was my first year on the U.S. Team and I was given the chance to ski the entire World Cup circuit. Getting top 10 in multiple events and a couple top fives were enough to end the season ranked seventh overall and receive the Rookie of the Year Award. The week after World Cup Finals, I won Junior Worlds in Valmalenco, Italy. I learned a lot from this season and experienced some really amazing things both in the competition side of things and in life.    

My goal for this upcoming year is to improve from the previous year and really compete for that top spot.  Being a pre-Olympic year does change the outlook on the season because it means it is really time to start preparing for what it is going to take to be on that Olympic team. 

FIRST TRACKS

Wilson started skiing when he was four years old at a small ski area in Montana. “It was at Lost Trail where I started skiing freestyle,” says Wilson. “When I was eight and my brother was 12, we would follow the Lost Trail Freestyle Team around because they were the best skiers on the mountain, and we wanted to be as good as they were. By the end of the day, they finally asked if we wanted to join their team. We joined and by the next year we started competing in Northern Division Freestyle.”

OFF THE SNOW

When the snow melts, Wilson loves spending time out in the sun, staying active, waterskiing, fly fishing and training. “I was introduced to mountain biking in the Park City area and have become a lot more active in that scene,” says Wilson. “The fly fishing in the area isn’t too bad either.”
